Location
The
Dawnlee is ideally situated as a convenient base from which
you can plan your break in Blackpool. We are 100 yards from the Promenade
and approximately halfway between the Central and South Piers.
This means that once on the Promenade, you are about a 15 - 20 minute
walk
to the South Pier, the Pleasure
Beach and Sandcastle
Waterworld in one direction, and the same distance in the other
direction to the Tower,
Town Centre, Shops, Theatres,
Wintergardens
and Pubs
& Clubs. There are, of course, Shops, Markets, Pubs etc all the
way along the seafront and the streets behind the promenade.
You
don't have to walk though, there are frequent buses and trams
that run the whole length of the promenade and beyond.
Literally
5 minutes walk away are Bloomfield Road and Blackpool
Football Club,
an Odeon
Multi-Screen Cinema as well as
Frankie &
Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar.
Also,
just a short drive or bus ride away, are Blackpool
Zoo and
Blackpool
Model Village. As is Stanley Park, with it's Golf Course, Boating
Lake, Fishing, All Weather Pitches, Tennis Courts, Playing Fields and
more.
As
well as Blackpool itself, we are also a convenient base for the many
attractions and places of interest within the surrounding areas.
Cleveleys is only a short drive, bus or tram ride away.
Fleetwood, a historic fishing town, is only a few miles further on from
Cleveleys,
also easily accesible by car, bus or tram.
With it's Market, Museum, Freeport
Fleetwood Shopping Village and
famous Heritage Trawler 'Jacinta' (daily tours from Easter to November).
In the other direction there is Lytham St Annes with it's famous Golf
Course.
Further
afield there is Preston with it's Guild
Hall, home of major
snooker tournaments and many other top events,
and Lancaster and it's historic Castle.
Then
approximately 1 - 1½ hours away you have access, by car or train,
to the Lake District,
Manchester and it's Trafford
Centre
and White
Scar Cave (the longest show cave in the UK)
at the start of the Yorkshire Dales.
